BMT E&C ACCELERATES CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS ON THE BIÊN HÒA – VŨNG TÀU EXPRESSWAY
Leveraging its proven capabilities from major projects such as Mỹ Thuận 2 Bridge, Bình Khánh Bridge, and the Mỹ Thuận – Cần Thơ Expressway, BMT E&C continues to affirm its presence at the Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu Expressway—one of the key transport projects in the 2023–2026 period.
Final Sprint on the Đồng Nai Section
According to the plan, December 19 marks the technical opening milestone for the Đồng Nai section of the Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu Expressway. In recent days, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, BMT E&C’s engineering team, quality management specialists, and construction workers have been focusing their efforts on completing the final stretches of hot mix asphalt (HMA) from Km20+048 to Km23+000.
At the site, chief engineer Trần Gia Phiên shared that BMT E&C has completed around 70% of the construction volume. To meet the technical opening schedule, the unit must maintain a high daily HMA paving output while ensuring road surface smoothness, skid resistance, and overall layer quality in accordance with the project’s technical specifications.
The sight of freshly laid hot asphalt emitting clouds of rising steam vividly reflects the discipline, resilience, and high-intensity work spirit of the BMT E&C team in this final sprint.
A Key Project for the Southeast Region
The Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu Expressway spans 54 kilometers, commenced in June 2023, and is scheduled for operation in 2026. To date, the former Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu section (now part of Ho Chi Minh City—component project 3), stretching 19.8 km, achieved technical opening on April 19, 2025. The Đồng Nai section, 34.2 km long, is expected to reach technical opening on December 19.
The connection of the HCMC – Đồng Nai and Đồng Nai – Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu sections forms a crucial interregional transport axis, easing congestion on National Highway 51 and shortening travel time between Ho Chi Minh City, Đồng Nai, Long Thành International Airport, and the Cái Mép – Thị Vải port complex.
Proven Construction Capacity
Beyond Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu, BMT E&C is also the key contractor for several major projects, including Mỹ Thuận 2 Bridge, the Mỹ Thuận – Cần Thơ Expressway, and packages A7 and A4 of the Bến Lức – Long Thành Expressway. The company is currently advancing important year-end components such as Đại Ngãi 2 Bridge, the T1–T2 road system at Long Thành Airport, and multiple infrastructure projects nationwide.
In just the past 11 months, BMT E&C’s HMA output has increased by nearly 50% compared to the same period in 2024. This remarkable growth reflects the company’s strengthening execution capability, supported by comprehensive investment in manpower, equipment, and quality management systems.
Preparing for a New Growth Phase
Alongside the goal of completing current projects in 2025, BMT E&C—together with BMT Investment and Construction JSC—is proactively preparing resources to participate in large-scale projects in the 2026–2030 period. This will form a solid foundation for maintaining stable workloads, expanding capabilities, and sustaining strong growth in the next development cycle of Vietnam’s transport infrastructure industry.
